Summer Fun

Ok, I know that it has been a long time since my last entry and for all of my friends know I am notorious for not being on the ball with this stuff! So sorry it has been so long. Things have been so busy and I haven't had time to enter new posts and pictures. I am going to do so today so I hope you enjoy them!

Where should I start? Patrick completed a very successful school year and for the first time is at grade level for reading, writing, math, etc. Yeah!! He will be entering fourth grade next year, hard to believe!!! He has been busy with playing baseball two nights per week and really enjoying himself. He will attend school at the same school next year and will have a great teacher next year. He attends extended school year for two hours per day and goes to a summer camp in the afternoon. He is really having fun in the sun! We also began receiving services for Patrick and he will be getting a personal care attendant during the day, occupational therapy, and will be participating with a social skills group to help him socialize better and get along better with his brothers and friends. He constantly keeps up on our toes. Patrick has always been and will continue to be our challange! Things seem to be going a bit better since school got out and the weather has warmed up.

Nathan started playing T-ball and soccer and really is enjoying himself. He has really matured over the past year and has turned into a pleasant little boy. He will be starting kindergarten in the fall and is really excited about school. It will only be for a half day but he will be able to attend activities at the YMCA in the mornings before school thanks to grandma! Nathan and Patrick enjoy playing together since they both have nintendo DS's and enjoy playing games together. They both have gone swimming together and Nathan has figured out when it is ok to play with Patrick and when he should stay away. He is our calm, quiet, and shy child, but very lovable.

Then there's Jacob! What can I say, he is going to be our social butterfly and probably the most trouble when he gets in school. He is still our little comic relief. He is into everything as usual, but loves to be outside. He starts his day outside and will stay there all day and all night if we let him. He is easy to please because he will play with friends or his brothers or play by himself if needed. He can also be a little bully. He will go up against anyone no matter what their size is. Grandma said that he was at the park last week and wanted to show Nathan something and there was a much older kid blocking his way so he yelled to the kid to get out of his way and that it was his brother's turn to see the truck. Patrick and Jacob's relationship is like fire and ice, but Nathan and Jacob are very close. They spend the most time together during the day. Jacob I think will be a bit lost when Nathan goes to school and he is at daycare full time. They won't see each other until the end of the day and that hasn't happened ever since Jacob was born. We'll see how it goes in September. He talks to everyone about anything! He isn 't playing any sports right now but loves anything with motors. He got a battery operated motorcycle and monster truck so when he isn't riding them he is fixing them. And if he has to be inside he likes to vaccuum the house. He is my little cleaner and told grandma the other day when he grows up he is going to be a cleaner! Some of you may say that Chris did this to him, but I swear I had nothing to do with it!! As a matter of fact he drives me crazy with the vaccuum even if I try to do it when he is not home he immediately notices that there are lines on the carpet and knows it has been done!

Chris and Kevin are doing well and just trying to have the energy to keep up with three very active children. Chris had a chance to take a vacation to Las Vegas earlier this month and had a great time. I have never been to Las Vegas so it was definitely an experience. It was hot and crowded but I had a chance to gamble a little (and lost), went to a show that was excellent, and of course got some shopping in. Kevin survived at home with the boys and was happy when I came home!!!

Grandma and Granpa are doing well. Casper (the dog) was sick and diagnosed with congestive heart failure and was not expected to live past March, but he is doing well on his new medications and still with us!! Grandma fell a few weeks ago and unfortunately tore ligaments in her thumb so she has been in a cast for the first part of this summer including the trip to Vegas, but she is getting her cast off right before 4th of July and she can't wait!

Well that's the most recent update of things going on. Enjoy the pictures below and I will make every attempt to update this more than every couple of months. Thanks for hanging in there with me!! Take care everyone!
